When Eli enters Daniel's office to ask about the blessing, as he starts to sit down his hands are starting to tent together, but when the camera changes his hands are at his side and when only after he sits down does he tent his fingers.

During the tracking shot from the train tracks that follows the car of Daniel Plainview, you can see the dolly track for a moment when the camera pulls back, just before the camera pans to the right.

A bright modern warning light is visible under the dash of one of the cars when a door is opened early in the movie.

Several vehicles also display number-plates incorrect for the period.

In the bowling alley scene, Eli is clearly visible placing Daniel's refused drink above the central panel on the paneled divider.

After the cut-away to Daniel, the drink is not above the central panel, but above the panel adjacent to the central one.

When Eli Sunday lists the towns he will be visiting on his mission, he includes Taft, which would have been named Moron until the 1920s.

A fireside scene reveals Plainview's boot to have a waffle sole.

The waffle sole was not invented nor used until the early-mid-'70s.

In the early scenes where the two miners are hauling buckets up the wells, a modern "bow" shackle is used to hold the bucket to the rope.

During the final scene in the bowling alley, Eli pours drinks for himself and Daniel Plainview.

Daniel refuses the drink so Eli sets Daniel's drink and an empty glass behind him.

As they converse, Eli drinks from his glass until Daniel orders him to stand and say that he is a false prophet.

As he stands, Eli takes one last sip of his drink without finishing it and sets it down about a quarter full besides the other two glasses.

On the next shot when the glasses are visible over Eli's shoulder, we can see Daniel's untouched drink and two empty glasses whereas Eli's drink was still about a quarter full when he put it down.

When Daniel and young H.

are heading to the Sunday ranch for the first time, a large white camping roll can be seen strapped to Daniel's backpack.

When we cut to the shot of them from behind, walking to the ranch, the large white camping roll is strapped to a bag Daniel is carrying in his right hand.

When Daniel starts throwing bowling balls at Eli, all twenty pins are standing in both lanes of the bowling alley.

After a couple of camera angle changes, nine pins in the left alley are shown knocked over despite Eli nor the bowling balls coming near them.

When H.

shoots his double-barrel shotgun twice at some quail, there is no apparent recoil.

Even the smaller-gauge shotguns will visibly "kick", especially if fired by a small child.

After H.

starts the ceremonial first drilling of the new well, the "walking arm" of this cable-tool rig begins to plunge the bit up and down.

The walking arm of a cable-tool rig cannot be used to start a well, as the rigid "tool string" can be forty feet long or more and the derrick tower must be used to drive the bit for about the first sixty feet.

Only then can the walking arm be mated to the tool string's cable to continue the bore.

In the "bastard from a basket" scene, H.

and the interpreter leave after the latter says "I thank God I have none of you in me".

It is clear by his lip movement that what the actor originally said was "none of me in you.

" At the end of the scene when Paul Sunday shows Daniel Plainview the location of the Sunday Ranch on the map, Paul picks up a hat that is quite clearly his own and not Daniel's - Daniel's hat is a dun brown "boss of the plains", while Paul's is grey and more like a wide-brimmed fedora.

When Daniel digs grave to bury Henry, water is seen in grave but soil which is removed is not wet.

"There Will Be Blood", directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, is perhaps one of the greatest films of our time and can immediately be considered a classic. Its entire structure, composition of actors, story, and cinematography all help to create a film that, although three hours in length, seams to fly through leaving you dying for more.

"I look at people and I see nothing worth liking." - Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis), THERE WILL BE BLOOD.

At the end of "There will be blood" I started to think about the movie, its messages and its meanings and in doing so I almost forgot how beautiful the settings are, how big the scope is and how good the story itself was. Indeed the interactions between the characters are great and the film is able to convey a lot of emotional tension.

This is one of the best films I've ever seen and one of the best of all time.

An over-8 rating on IMDb is usually a certification of greatness or at the very least an indication that the movie is watchable. In my personal view, "Blood" is neither great nor really watchable.

Just watched this on Channel 4 and was immediately drawn into the movie from the outset. It is not often that a film is so well produced and lit, that leaves such a memorable leading character and cast that it warrants comment and commendation.

Decent turn all round, however I found the movie to be above average and a bit overrated.

Great acting by Daniel day-leweis. He proved he is a best actor with skills.

I took this movie at a video store without knowing anything about it. The reason I took it was that D.
