Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

When Sonja cries, her first tear comes down to her mouth twice.

After Lucian's final fight with Viktor, he steps out on the ledge above all the Lycans.

They are all clothed like they were before the battle started.

When they transformed into their wolf forms, all their clothes would have been ripped off.

Sonja's eye color keeps changing back and forth between brown ('Rhona Mitra' (qv)'s natural eye color) and whitish-blue (contact lenses).

The vampires' eye-colors change throughout the movies in the first two films as well.

They are often brown (natural eye-colors of the actors/actresses), but change to blue when the intensity of a situation increases.

For example, Selene's eyes change from brown to blue during her fight/searching sequences in both movies, as well as her sex-scene in the second film.

Kraven's eyes exhibit the same behavior in the first two films.

Several of the slaves that were bitten by one of Viktor's Lycans take part in the assault on the castle, although they were bitten at least 3 days before they do not change in the light of the full moon.

In the original Underworld film it was stated the only the older Lycans could change at will and resist the influence of the moon.

At the beginning, when Sonja is riding out to greet the human nobles and receives her "sharpened" sword from Lucian, you can see she doesn't know how to properly wear/carry the sword while on horseback and the sword actually falls out of it's scabbard.

There is a quick cell-change as this happens and the sword magically puts itself back in the scabbard and rights itself.

After his group of slaves is sent to be bitten by the captive Lycans, Raze is the only one of his group back in his cage without a collar, but no point is made of this.

- PLOTIn the final scene, Raze tore off prison doors with extreme ease whilst in human form, therefore it's inconceivable how the doors would be able to hold groups of Lycans.

Their combined strength is surely greater than Raze's.

When Lucian arrives near the room where Sonja is being held captive, we can see two guards at the door, both right handed (sword at left side).

When one of the guards walks away, we can see that he is is left handed (he has his sword at his right side and holds it with the left hand).

When the coffers of silver are brought before Viktor, it's quite apparent that they're hollow as the actors are carrying them with ease.

Silver is a very dense metal (10.

49g/cm^3) and even if the silver of the coins was watered down, the boxes would each weigh in excess of 50kg (or 110lbs - the weight of a fully grown [and fairly slim] woman).

The "blood" that Viktor is drinking shortly after imprisoning Sonja is quite clearly tomato juice or something similar - blood is not orange, and is opaque but not cloudy with sediment.

After Viktor and his personal guards drop into the battle scene towards the end of the filmthe zoom shot from Lucien's perspective shows Viktor holding his helmet under his arm.

Viktor then puts the helmet on and enters the fray.

The camera cuts back to a distance shot from Lucien's perspective.

In this distance shot, Viktor's helmet is back under his arm and he is standing where he was in the zoom shot.

When the Noble gets thrown into the pillar and lands with a head wound, the wound shakes after he is motionless.

Also the color is incorrect for the scene given the lighting.

Just before Lucian tears up the grate to go to Sonja, he is watching the vampires unceremoniously shove the Lycans around.

In the first shot of him, his hair is completely out of his face, then it cuts back to the Lycans.

In the next shot of Lucian, his hair is very in his face.

Then, after another shot of the Lycans putting down axes and such, it goes back, and Lucian's hair is completely out of his face again.

When Viktor takes the necklace from Sonya's burned body there is only small amount of chain around it, several shots later the chain is longer.

Sonja should have been blonde instead of a brunette since the flashback in _Underworld (2003)_ showed her as such.

Kate Beckinsale was quite clearly the best thing the Underworld franchise had going for it. Making an Underworld movie without her was either very bold or very stupid.

The script in the first hour is fairly water-tight, but Lucian's re-capture not only brings too much deja-vu but makes no sense. There is no reason why he couldn't turn into a beast, take Sonia into his arms, and jump from the window all the way down and then scamper off into the woods to safety.

This was the third film in the "Underworld" franchise, and it works as a prequel to everyone else. However, it was the second in the franchise that I saw, right after the first and leaving the second film to see in third place.

I enjoy watching vampires and werewolves but I especially like werewolves and for me, I expect them to look gruesome with the ultimate scare tactic. Although this movie didn't scare me, the look of the werewolves are what I expect in a werewolf movie .

Like the title says! Michael Sheen is so good in this movie.

Rise of the Lycans takes the series back in time, to the beginning of the Vampire/Lycan war. Viktor is the awoken Elder again, ruling a council of nobles alongside his daughter Sonja.

At the time of writing this jt is 2020 and we're amidst a global pandemic. I had seen all of the Underworld film series apart from this one.

The best prequel in history, the rise of the Lycans takes all the characters you know and love and develops them even further. The cinematography is gritty and grim and beautiful.
