At around 1:12:20, Fonda is made to draw his gun, when he goes to put it back in the holster, he clearly misses the holster and gets it right on the second try.

As a gunfighter he was obviously better at getting his gun out of the holster than putting it back.

In a brief intro set in 1691 Boston we are introduced to two of the three main protagonists in the film, the Warlock himself (Julian Sands) and his captor (at the time) Redferne (Richard E Grant). This brief scene establishes that yep these two guys will be talking funny for the rest of the film – get used to it.

This story opens in Massachusetts of the late 17th century, where a warlock (handsome, blonde genre star Julian Sands) is condemned to die, but he is magically transported into the U.S.

An odd phenomenon in the movie biz is that some movies that start out as simply good, or better than average, become, over the fullness of time, and after repeated viewings, iconic and unforgettable. This is a prime example.

Another one of those very unusual films that really has no analogue, no similarities, to anything before or after. A tale of a spit and polish travelling Marshall who, for a price, will show up in your town and do the dirty work that has to be done.

Can't think of a single criticism. All characters very believable.

Okay, it's not the best movie in the world, but it's worth it just to the always good-even-when-he's-bad Richard E. Grant in a heroic role.

While some of the effects in Warlock are quite dated, If you can get by that you'll find 90 mins of fun. The film does a good job of bringing you into the story and making you feel like the end of the world is imminent.

Julian Sands and Lori Singer are excellent in this movie. It's not a gory or scary film, but still a great watch.

I love westerns, and this one is up there with the best of them. What makes it great, is, as others have said the depth to which the characters are fleshed out in the time provided and it's deftly directed psychological aspect.
