During the party scene, a woman wearing a green dress can be seen lying dead on the floor, a few scenes later we can see her alive and running out of the house with the crowd.

Early in the movie a phone booth is shown with the Pacific Bell logo.

After Alexandra wishes to be back in her apartment, the phone rings and a camera shot of the phone shows a Bell South logo.

In the scene when the camera has a wide shot of the park/play house you can see the camera crane's shadow in the bottom right corner.

Towards the end of the Beaumont party scene, Alex and the security guys are in the hallway with the killer statues.

One of the security men falls to the floor and his earpiece falls off.

Throughout the scene, it keeps changing position from being on the floor next to him, to back on his ear, to being on his ear in a different position.

When Josh and Alex sit down after their tennis match, Josh's tennis racket vanishes from his hands between shots.

Security is trying to help Alex escape.

Each security guard is using a semi-automatic pistol, and when the clips are empty, the gun is heard to be making a double click sound.

No semi-automatic pistol will make a double clicking noise when the slide is drawn back, as these are shown to be, when the clip is empty.

After the explosion in the laboratory, Josh is laying on the floor, injured.

His face is covered in blood, however during the scene the amount of blood on his face keeps changing.

In close ups of his face his lips are free of blood, but in wider shots his lips are covered in thick amounts of blood.

When the tramp presses himself up against the drug store window, the positions of him arms change from up or down between shots.

As the camera pans down the front of the Seaside Pharmacy, on the left you can see the actor playing the bum waiting for his cue to walk across the screen.

Had the djinn asked me for a wish, I would have said 'I wish this film were made better" and he would surely have been stumped. I decided to give this a watch after being pleasantly surprised by the somewhat obscure Devil's Rejects (I gave it 4 out of 5 stars) but alas I was disappointed.

This movie is a real and rare gem. Story well told, good tension, a villain with a cynical smile, despite the simple production and the special effects just Ok.

"Wishmaster" is better than I expected. It's quite a bit more entertaining than I thought it might be.

The idea was good but what a terrible film! I laughed quite a lot, it was so campy and silly which is why I kinda liked it.

Through a priceless gemstone, a malevolent djinn (Andrew Divoff) is released in Los Angeles where he harasses people by answering their wishes. Tammy Lauren plays the protagonist, Wendy Benson-Landes her sister and Robert Englund a collector of idolatrous artifacts.

This film is the age old story of the weaker sex triumphing over great masculine evil through guile and intelligence. The ending in particularly reminded me of Eowyn's defeat of the Witch King in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Wishmaster (1997): The Good, the Bad and the Reminiscent Synopsis: A long lost artifact that plays host to a Djinn (which is an ancient demon) is found and comes into the possession of a young appraiser. Mysterious events begin to unfold until the Djinn finally reveals his plan: to grant three wishes to the woman and release his kind from their realm to rule the Earth.

Not sure how anyone could rate this more than 5 stars. If you watched this back in the 90s, perhaps you could rate this a bit higher.

One of those B movies that simply doesn't know its place, that gets better with each successive viewing. I am not going to give the credit to Craven, a talented director whose track record shows that, to milk yet more sequel out of a successful franchise (in this case, Wishmaster #2 to #4) he conveniently forgets the meaning of restraint (along with another word he forgets in his sequels, "quality").
